Business email: How To Connect Android Device To POP/IMAP Mailbox Imprimir

To configure device with the Android OS to connect to POP/IMAP mailbox:

1. Choose the default mail application from the list of applications.

 

2. Type in the email address and password of your POP/IMAP mailbox.

3. Click Manual Setup.

4. On the next screen, choose POP or IMAP.
Important: We strongly recommend to use the IMAP protocol instead of POP protocol as POP protocol is considered to be outdated and can cause the performance issues for your mailbox. 

4. Type in the server settings:

  • Username: Email address
  • Password: Mailbox password
  • POP (IMAP) server: You can find the correct server setting in:
    • Exchange administratorHostPilot > Services > Mailboxes> POP/IMAP , click the View Instructions button at the top of the page.
    • Exchange userMy Services > Welcomepage.
  • Port: 995 for POP or 993 for IMAP
  • Security Type: SSL (Accept All Certificates)

5. Click Next.

6. Type in the SMTP server settings:

  • Username: Email address
  • Password: Mailbox password
  • IMAP server: You can find the correct SMTP server setting in:
    • Exchange AdministratorHostPilot > Services > Mailboxes >POP/IMAP , click the View Instructions button at the top of the page.
    • Exchange userMy Services > Welcome page.
  • Port: 25 (Alternative ports: 465 or 587)
  • Security Type: TLS (Accept All Certificates)
  • Require sign-in should be checked.

7. Click Next.

8. Configure additional settings.

9. On the next screen, specify the Account Name and Display Name.

10. Click Done.
